James Gyte

I was contacted by Craig Hodson who was trying to research the history of his grandfather. Unfortunately the service record is not available at Kew.

My Great Grandfather served from 1915 - 1920. His name and rank are Corporal
James William Gyte, Serial Number 9804 York & Lancaster Regiment. I  would like to trace at least his battalion number. I believe this is normal shown on the Army serial number i.e.: 12/3695

The phot shows James at the time of his wedding to Craig’s grandmother, Phylis, August 5th 1916. James died in 1946
